Look Local

Buckcherry and Guns N Roses and play rock and blues which they describe as, in their words, "good old Rock & Roll". They have already released a 3 track CD and Sheffield Scenster described them as "an entertaining, confident and accomplished band".

Sleepwalker are Greenie on Vocals/Guitar, Jack Dyson on Guitar/Backing Vocals, Will Fraser on Bass and Skinny on Drums. Rock Society Magazine said about them 'Sleepwalker has a distinctive sound but one which is firmly rooted in classic rock. One to watch out for.'

In the past year alone both bands have regularly played at The Boardwalk, Birdwell, O2 and The Plug. In May Sleepwalker support Lets Zep at The Plug.

The Steve Fletcher Band open the night and on stage you will see Steve Fletcher playing multiple instruments including Vox, guitar, stompbox and Cajon Drum. Steve is really a one man band but if you closed your eyes you wouldn't know only one person is playing. When he is not on stage Steve is either teaching (he is a local music teacher) or organising the regular and very successful Can You Jam nights at The Venue.

Also on the bill are very special guests from Motherwell 4dayweekend. A four piece band they have just been named as one of the short listed acts for Unsigned Band of The Year at the Sunday Mail Young Scot Awards. They play Pop/Rock/Indie and recent press quotes have said that they were "fast becoming one of the most exciting young bands." - Scot Campus and the "The best band in Scotland". Jim Gellatly of BBC Radio recently said of them "A breath of fresh air, they're immense!"

If you like live music why not come down to The Venue for what should be a great evenings entertainment. Doors open at 7-30pm and show starts at 8pm with entry at only £4. Keep live music alive and in your town and come and support this event. For tickets call The Venue on 0114 2838692 or buy on the door on the night.
