Jig for a Kiss
From Chesterfield,’Jig for a Kiss’ are an eight-piece folk band with whistle, recorder, flute, clarinet, sax, harmonica, melodeon, mandolin, bouzouki, guitar, bass, percussion – and voices. They play their own arrangements of music old and new from the British Isles, Europe, and beyond: jigs (of course), slip jigs, Reels, Ballads and Songs with Klezmer, Ska and Swing jumping into the set from time to time.
Shaun Hutch
Shaun follows in the footsteps of John Martyn, Steve Tilston, Martin Carthy and Martin Simpson. He describes his music as eclectic acoustic, a mix of traditional and contemporary songs and his own material; songs which often speak of his beloved moors and mountains. He has played in many bands over the years, touring extensively and playing many styles of music, before making the leap into solo performing to great acclaim a few years ago.
Nigel Parsons
Nigel has covered: pop, soul & rock bands, choral societies and current solo singer-songwriter work. His influences are wide-ranging: Todd Rundgren, Steve Reich, ABBA, Richard Thompson – 'Anything I hear can work its way into the songs I write!' he says. Nigel has gigged at places such as; the Cavern Club, Blackpool Tower, Wigan Casino and Sheffield's Black Swan, supporting bands as diverse as: The Hollies, Arthur Brown, Dire Straits. 'People tell me about gigs I played or bands I was in that I can't even remember!'
