The Venue Reception & Box Office is open Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.  In the evenings times vary depending on events and activities. Please ring 0114 2838692 during Reception opening hours to check details.

 

The Venue Bar is open Friday's, Saturday's and Monday's from 7.00pm with fantastic cask and draught beer offers every week.

The Venue can also help you with your own special event. We have a variety of function rooms available for hire for parties, conferences, weddings, exhibitions and other events. Please contact us for information on pricing and the facilities on offer.

The Venue has a wide range  events taking place such as concerts, gigs, plays and other performing arts. We host  Folk Nights and regularly hold Band Nights

Fancy a gig?

The Venue runs band nights open to all ages, experience and genre. If you fancy a gig either email graham.silverwood@btinternet.com or private message The Venue in Facebook.

The Venue is not just a place to watch or listen, why not try out a variety of activities and leisure learning  here at the Venue. 

Learn new skills such as cake decorating, scrap booking, jewellery making, crafts, digital photography and flower arranging.  If you would like to learn how to use a computer or improve your computer skills, we run a number of leisure learning courses  Other regular activities include Music and Song for pre-school children, Children's activities as well as Tai Chi, Slimming World,  and Sequence Dancing, Zumba, Chairobics, Taekwondo and singing with the Waldershelf Choir.

There are regular car boot sales as well as craft fayres and food markets - Car boot pitches cost £10 and run from 9.30am-11.30am once a month on a Saturday (open to booters at 9.00am) These regularly sell out so please book in advance

Teenies Film Club - Laura's Star
Laura's Star tells the story of seven-year-old Laura who moves to a newtown. She finds it hard to make new friends until she finds a, quite literally, fallen star. It is the start of a great friendship. By the end,Laura learns that love means also having to let go so the star can return to the sky.

Children's Film Club - The Good Dinosaur (Spring Bank week)
Luckily for young Arlo, his parents (Jeffrey Wright, Frances McDormand) and his two siblings, the mighty dinosaurs were not wiped out 65 million years ago. When a rainstorm washes poor Arlo (Raymond Ochoa) downriver, he ends up bruised, battered and miles away from home. Good fortune shines on the frightened dino when he meets Spot (Jack Bright), a Neanderthal boy who offers his help and friendship. Together, the unlikely duo embark on an epic adventure to reunite Arlo with his beloved family. £3 per child all children must be accompanied

Little Listeners - Monsters Week
Welcome to The Venues Little Listeners - aimed at under 5's this new adults & pre-school session will be great fun, arrive and have 15 minutes meet and greet and a craft activity before spending 1/2 listening to a wonderful selection of stories that will have plenty of interactive parts to keep your little one engaged, then enjoy short film/cartoon or episode of a favourite character story all based on the theme of the day. Adults & childrens refreshments will be provided free - cost for session £5 per child 1.15pm - 2.30pm
